Common pricing models
Most practices quote Botox in one of three ways. Per unit pricing charges for each unit of product used, so the total depends on the amount your provider recommends. Per treatment area pricing sets a price for a defined area regardless of the exact unit count. Package or membership pricing bundles multiple sessions or treatments, sometimes with conditions such as expiration dates. Ask which model a practice uses before comparing any two quotes, because a per-unit price and a per-area price are not directly comparable.
What affects Botox cost?
Number of units: different areas and different individuals call for different amounts of product. Treatment area: the area being treated influences both the plan and the amount used. Provider experience: training, credentials and experience with the specific area can be reflected in pricing. Geographic location: overhead and local market conditions vary between practices and regions. Product used: botulinum toxin products are not identical and are not priced or dosed the same way. Consultation recommendations: a consultation may change the plan, and some practices charge a consultation fee separately.
Why exact pricing can vary
Two people can visit the same practice, ask about the same area and receive different recommendations. Facial anatomy, previous treatments, goals and clinical judgment all shape a plan, which in turn shapes the price. For that reason a published range is not a quote. The only reliable pricing is the written quote a provider gives you after evaluating you in person, and you should ask what that quote does and does not include.
